Figures released by the Trussell Trust last week indicated 1,583,668 emergency parcels were given out between 1st April 2018 and 31st March 2019, a startling 18.8% increase. More than a third of these parcels – 577,618 – went to children. Nationally, supplies distributed by Foodbanks have risen by 73.4% in the five years since April 2014. […]
